چکیده
Abstract Resin infusion is a pressure-gradient-driven composite manufacturing process in which the liquid resin driven to flow through and fill void space of porous preform prior heat treatment for solidification. It usually great challenge design both system meeting requirements, especially large-scale components aircraft wind turbine blades. Aiming at addressing key concerns about fronts air bubble entrapment, present study proposes modelling framework multiphase dual scale medium, i.e. preform. A finite strain formulation discussed fluid–solid interaction during an process. The bridges gap between microscopic observation macroscopic by using averaging method first principle method, sheds new light on high-fidelity element modelling.

Using X-ray computed microtomography, we have visualized and quantified the in situ structure of a trapped nonwetting phase (oil) in a highly heterogeneous carbonate rock after injecting a wetting phase (brine) at low and high capillary numbers. We imaged the process of capillary desaturation in 3D and demonstrated its impacts on the trapped nonwetting phase cluster size distribution. We have i...
متن کاملFlow in porous media pore-network models and multiphase flow
In the last 3 years there has been a huge increase in the use of pore-scale modeling to study multiphase flow and transport in porous media. Starting from single pore models of fluid arrangements, computations of relative permeability, interfacial area, dissolution rate and many other physical properties have been made. Combined with a realistic description of the pore space, predictive modelin...
متن کاملAn open-source toolbox for multiphase flow in porous media
Multiphase flow in porous media provides a wide range of applications: from the environmental understanding (aquifer, site-pollution) to industrial process improvements (oil production, waste management). Modeling of such flows involves specific volume-averaged equations and therefore specific computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. In this work, we develop a toolbox for modeling multiphase f...

Multiphase flow is a critical process in a wide range of applications, including carbon sequestration, contaminant remediation, and groundwater management. Typically, this process is modeled by a nonlinear system of partial differential equations derived by considering the mass conservation of each phase (e.g., oil, water), along with constitutive laws for the relationship of phase velocity to ...
